Yes - tomorrow at 3:30pm Eastern time, Dan and I are going to be getting married.  Through the wonder of the internet, and one of our groomsmen, we are going to be streaming the wedding live through Justin.TV

The link for the feed will be :  http://www.justin.tv/otakugeneration

You will need to register for Justin.tv, but will be able to chat before the feed goes up.

Thanks to Alan for setting this up...now I'm going to go get my beauty sleep!  It's a big day tomorrow.

Better Late Than Never will be back once all the wedding craziness is finished - though the focus may change a bit for a while - I've been really getting into cooking, so I think I may want to talk about that for a bit.

Love,
MA

Well everyone - I'm on hiatus now till after the wedding.  But I'm still going to be doing Fanboy Hell, so here's a promo for you!

We have another unplugged episode - this one was recorded right after Dan and I saw The Dark Knight opening weekend.  Again, he was audio editor and made it sound good.

I'm still at a loss at what I want to do with BL8TN.  One thing I learned when I was getting started in podcasting is that you have to have passion for what you talk about, and right now - I don't feel like I do - I need to find my passion and inspiration for this podcast.

I still have one more media review coming in the wings, but after that - I may put BL8TN on hiatus - till I find inspiration again.

Comments and feedback of course are welcome.  Thanks everyone.

P.S.  Yes, it is incredibly spoilerific for those of you out of the US.

Today, the show is unplugged, recorded with my iSight mic.  I've been in the middle of the mid-summer doldrums, and I'm uncertain how I want BL8TN to continue.  I still want it to continue, but I'm not sure how just yet.  So, I'm keeping things simple for the time being.

Today, I have what will be released as a Fanboy Hell Side B - it's talking about an anime called Master Keaton.  It's a slice of life type of thing about a kick-ass insurance investigator.  I'm joined by Gramarye, one of my favorite people on the planet, so introduced me to the series a couple of years ago.

Links that might be helpful:
Master Keaton on Wikipedia
Gramarye's Internet Collective

Promo is for Double Trouble - get ready for 08/08/08

I'll try not to take so long between shows.

Here we go - a mini episode with a report on Balticon!  We had a fabulous time, so I hope you enjoy our mini update.

And I'm working really hard to put together a media review for the next show, so hopefully that will be up soon after I can get the review together.

I've also made a decision - BL8TN is going to be making some changes - and in order to encourage me to get back on a regular schedule, I'm not going to be putting episodes of Fanboy Hell in the feed.

So enjoy the Balticon report - and I'll see you soon!

This episode I prattle on about stuff management, wedding plans, and recording troubles.  Then Dan and I discuss the different incarnations of I Am Legend.

Lazy show notes, because I need to go get ready for Balticon.

Voice Mail - 206-338-3942

I'll add to these later - have a great weekend everyone!

Throwing this into the feed - I'm going to be appearing on Fanboy Hell, which Dan, myself, and our friend Jefferson talk about various fannish stuff.  This episode, we do some news and talk about Torchwood and Dr. Who.  So, download, enjoy, and if you like it - let me know - I'll throw the episodes into the feed here so you hear more from me.  On the next Fanboy Hell, we talk about Speed Racer.

I do have an I Am Legend show coming, and in the pipeline - more anime! I just finished Neon Genesis Evangelion, and am almost done Mezzo.  There will be more Gunslinger Girl coming down the pipes as well.

So, I'm still here, I'm still recording!  I need to get some other voices on the show (though I love Dan dearly), so if you want to do a media review with me, let me know and we will make it happen.

Also, I'm going to be going to Balticon in a few weeks, and will be on a couple of different panels.  If you are going to be going - drop me a line!

Hey everyone!

I know I've been quiet for the past month or so - but that's because things have been nuts around here.  Trying to plan a wedding, getting an apartment in order - I've been going nuts!  But we got the studio set up, and you can expect some real shows coming soon with media reviews of I Am Legend, Rock Band, and some other things.

But in the meantime, last week I appeared on the show Dan is on Otaku Generation.  It's a little different than I what I normally do, but I thought at least I would give you something to listen to.

And coming soon - I appear in an episode of Fanboy Hell where we talk Torchwood!

So new content coming soon, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this.  If you did, let me know at 206-338-3942.

Talk to you in a bit!

No regular show this week, guys - there has been so much going on here, I haven't had time to sit down at the mike, except to record an episode of Escape Pod.  But Big Things happened in the last week.  If you missed it on Twitter:

Go Here:  http://mainpa.livejournal.com/11476.html

Also - today is Infected Day!  Scott Sigler's Infected hits the stores today (though I know some were able to pick it up early).  I think we are going to pick up our copies tonight - I guess we'll see how we feel.  Muscles have been sore from all the moving we've been doing.

And finally, on a sober note - today marks the year anniversary of the passing of Joe Murphy, when he lost his battle with Leiomeiosarcoma.  I remember Joe - as my favorite voice on Slice of Sci Fi, Michael and Evo's Wingin It, and The Kick Ass Mystic Ninjas.  I never met him, and I have a feeling my life is poorer for it.  So, for this show, I'm playing the tribute episode.  Here are the show notes posted at Give Us a Minute:

These are the reflections, the memories, and the considerations of people from across the country and around the world that called Joe Murphy “friend…

  • Brad Bowyer (Louisville, Ketuckey)

  • Cat a/k/a The SciFi Ranter Girl (Houston, Texas)

  • TD-0013 (Dune Sea, Tattoine)
  • Debbie Walker (Mesa, Arizona)
  • Jack Mangan (Phoenix, Arizona)
  • Sheila Unwin (Chandler, Arizona)
  • Evo Terra (Chandler, Arizona)

These are only a few of the lives this one single voice in the podosphere touched. This is a show that may make you laugh, may make you cry, and will give you a look at the soul we all knew for far too brief a time. For those of you contributing to this audio tribute, we at the Joe Murphy Memorial Fund thank you.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
On April 1st, either in place of or in addition to your show if you have one posted on that date, we at the Joe Murphy Memorial Fund ask that you play this special episode. Play no additional promos, just this episode, and please direct show notes for the episode here at joemurphymemorialfund.org. And when you play the Tribute show, feel free to post the title of your show, where in the world you podcast from, and tag it with “((Title of Your Podcast)) Remembers Joe.

The more people carry this episode, the more people will know about our missing ninja. Thank you all for your time and attention. Tell everyone you know.

Music provided by Beatnik Turtle and George Hrab.

See you in two weeks guys.  As always, the voice mail line is (206)338-3942.

Hey everyone, I'm feeling under the weather, so Episode 26 isn't going to be released today.  It should be out tomorrow or in the next few days, depending on how I feel to get the media review actually recorded.

Sorry about it - but hopefully I'll be back to normal soon!

Also - as a correction to last week's podcast - Bryan who gave me the great advice on the turkey is not the Bryan from Food Geeking, but rather is a fellow cast member in.  Metamor City Sorry about that!

In this episode, MA talks turkey, birthday cakes, cell phones, Pokemon, and does a media review with returning guest Diane Severson.  This show we discuss one of the classic teen films from the 80's - Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and how it made us feel like teens again, longing for those stylin' clothes from the 80's.  Or not.

And because I forgot - the Ferris Bueller episode of 'Hey Wanna Watch a Movie'

That's it for this episode.  Next time - hear about my on going search for a cell phone - since recording this episode, I've seen the new update for the iPhone, and certain other gadgets of mine have given up the ghost, so the iPhone may not be off the table.  And yes, there will be some anime discussion coming soon, I promise!  If you want to weigh in on the episode, or just say hi - you can send me an e-mail at mainthepa at gmail.com, leave a comment here, or send me a voicemail at (206)338-3941.

Be good everyone, and I'll talk to you in two.

P.S.  and thanks to Dan for the picture that was posted from this episode.  yes - I was playing Pokemon and battling Doug Rapson over the internet when it was taken!

Sorry the episode is late everyone!  What happened was that I thought I had lost a portion of my interview with Mur!  But thanks to Paul Fischer, I was able to recover it!  So this week, I babble on about a variety of things, including losing it over Christmas, Tin Man, and what an awesome kid I have.  I'm a bit scattered, so be warned.

Crap - I lost part of my media review with Mur Lafferty, so I'm not sure when there is going to be a show - I don't have any other media reviews in the hopper.  And no - I don't have a backup - when will MA learn?

Hopefully I'll have something for you in the next few days.  Sorry everyone.

I'd like to announce that as of tonight, I will NOT be MAinPA anymore.  At least for the weekend.  I will be MAinGA once again, as I wing my way down to Atlanta to help Leann pack up to move to AZ.

Now you didn't think I would go to Atlanta, and we wouldn't get in front of the mics did you?  No - we are going to be recording a show, and this is where you come in.  We are two geek girls, and we are taking your questions!  So leave a comment here with a question, and we'll answer it!

And to all of you that have been here for me this week - you know how much it means to me.  I hit a real low point last weekend - so low that I had thought I was going to close BL8TN because it seemed as though everything I had tried to do was a failure.  But there were certain ones of you that kicked my ass, picked me up, and refused to let me fall again.  I do have to say that I think the best friends are the ones that don't try to fix you - they just let you know you aren't alone while you figure things out.   So to those of you - thank you so much. I am such a lucky person.

There will be a new episode of BL8TN coming on Wednesday, featuring a media review with Mur Lafftery.  So tune in, and I haven't mixed down a VM segment yet - so there is still time to get a voice mail in for the next show.  (206)338-3942.  Call.  You know you want to.

And for right now....

I'm leavin on a jet plane....

Love,
MA

Finally - it took me two days, but here are the show notes for this episode, where I hang out with Diane Severson and we talk about the Book Whose Title I Cannot Pronounce.

Also - I had to reupload the podcast this week - the music I mention in the episode turned out to possibly not be podsafe, so I changed it.  Anyway - on to the Notes!

Metamour City
The Computer King
Selganor
Space Casey
Charles Cadenhead from Mostly News
Choochus from Into the Blender
Murder at Avedon Hill

Lenny Henry
Neil Gaiman
Dianne's MySpace Page
and her blog.

Also - my template is broken here on the website.  Anyone that could help me would be most appreciated.  I can't figure out what is going on, so no comments till I do.

So - email me at mainthepa at gmail.com or send me a voice mail at (206)338-3942.

Talk to you in two,
MA
